Timothy Bowles is an experienced attorney in “management side” employment law, business law (including protection of trade secrets), civil and constitutional litigation, and international human rights law. As one of the most experienced employer attorneys Los Angeles has to offer, he specializes in representing private employers in all aspects of workplace law, including counseling on handling failing employees as well as on alleged discrimination, harassment, retaliation matters and employee trade secret misappropriation. Mr. Bowles’s work thus spans litigation defense; representation in agency proceedings such as the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the California Civil Rights Department (CRD), Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE) and Employment Development Department (EDD); and assistance on implementation of sound workplace policies and practices.

Mr. Bowles has an extensive and successful 40-plus year history as a litigator. Mr. Bowles is a frequent employment law blogger and the author of the Bowles Law Report, a regular publication servicing over 20,000 recipients. He is a frequent speaker for employers and professional groups, including seminars on a wide range of employment law-related subjects such as gender-based discrimination and harassment, employee pay practices and workplace dispute resolution.

From decades of experience, he has also developed created model employment forms and workplace policy manuals adapted and in practice by thousands of employers.

From 2005 to 2012, Mr. Bowles volunteered for Youth for Human Rights International to develop successful human rights education and leadership initiatives in post-genocide West Africa as well as the United States.

Beginning in 2014, Mr. Bowles has created and spearheaded the African Literacy Campaign for Applied Scholastics International, an NGO dedicated to effective, competency-based education worldwide.
