Effective January 22, 2017, the City of Los Angeles’ (City) Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance (FCIHO) prohibits employers with 10 or more employees located or doing business in the City from inquiring into a job applicant’s criminal history by any means, including on the application form or during the job interview, unless and until the employer extends a conditional offer of employment.
